GO Transit Website Redesign
The GO Transit website redesign was a massive undertaking that took place over the course of 2017 and 2018. I joined the project in September of 2017 and helped to evolve the site's templates, branding and pattern library.

THE CHALLENGE
The GO Transit website serves two main users: the everyday commuter and the occasional rider. Both of these users have vastly different needs, but are both equally important.
From a stakeholder perspective, the website needs to act as a messaging center; an important way to communicate with riders with the most up-to-date information.
MY ROLE
When I joined the project, I began working directly with a senior project designer to evolve the designs of the schedules page, the service updates centre, and the construction pages. I worked on the tablet and mobile breakpoints for all the designs and built out the pattern library to reflect all of our work.
THE PROCESS
We designed in 2-week sprints. Each sprint included time to design, prototype, user test, re-design and present the solutions to the client for approval. We designed everything using Sketch and gradually created a near fully-functional InVision prototype that contained over 100 screens.
During this process, we also built out a robust and detailed pattern library that outlined the overall design system and described the rules around each page template.
